My name is Wayne McGovern and I live in Lucan, County Dublin. I have been breeding budgies for the last 46 years and being with these little birds is my passion. I have no knowledge or interest in any other breed of bird, only budgies. I started breeding them when I was just 12 years old and from that early age I have been fascinated with them ever since. There is something about their colours that intrigue me. To this day I still get excited about their eggs hatching and what colour each chick will turn out to be.

A few years ago my passion developed further. I discovered I had a skill in training these birds.

  In 2012, I found myself with more time on my hands as I was working from home and had a lot of free time so I set up a new aviary with the proper training facilities to train birds. I am lucky also that I have 3 helpers that also help me in this department (would not be able to do it otherwise!)

Trained budgies are completely different from budgies bought from a pet shop. These birds are so friendly they want interaction with you and your family on a daily basis. They are not birds that just look nice but stay in their cage. These birds want to be out of their cage on a regular basis, sitting on your head or shoulder, watching T.V with you, playing games with you and maybe even to talk to you as well. These birds are so friendly that they will become part of your family the same way a dog can. They will give you back so much enjoyment that you will wish you had have got them sooner.

I sell Trained budgies only to people I feel will give them a good home.

I now, also offer the service of training your budgies! Yes, no matter how old or wild your budgies are or if they have a nasty habit of biting you, I can train them over a seven day period to be the ideal pets you would like them to be! After the week of training your birds will be happy to fly on to your hands, arms, head and shoulders. If I am unable to train them, then there is no fee!
